My Talbot-Matra Murena 2.2


Both this site and the car are under construction.
The site, because it hasn't been maintained since 2003.
The car, because it hasn't been maintained properly before 2000 and I've been trying to get things in good shape ever since.

BREAKING NEWS:
2008-03-03: I've decided not to sell off the car. It's time to enjoy it now, I can always write off my multi-1000-euro investments later on ;-)
2008-03-22: Almost new "Murena S" interior, new rear brake discs, new trailing arm. All with the help of Cornelis Hoogenboom.
The next item on the list: get the engine running better than it is doing now.
2008-04-24: Had the car fully insured (appraised value 6500 euro) and...
2008-04-28: Ran the right side of the car into a crash barrier, after skidding off a curb that was steeper than expected.
Did you know the car has a remarkable impact resistance?
The right hand side mirror has been severed off and the polyester shows cracks and bruises, but the car drives fine.
2008-05-04: 150 km/h on the German Autobahn is a fine cruising speed, topping 190 km/h according to the GPS.
Fuel consumption on average: 10 l/100 km (Euro 98/Super Plus)
2008-05-30: Finally the insurance company sent over an expert to assess the damage. But no report has been sent in yet, so the car is still waiting for repairs...
