Carjoy

If you want to have your Murena serviced or you want to buy one, Carjoy is the place to be. The owner, Ruud Jong, has dedicated this garage to the Matra Murena like no other in The Netherlands and surrounding countries. Apart from Murena sales and repair, he also does engine conversions.
I have recently made a not-so-planned visit to Carjoy, because my Murena broke down with a broken clutch (fortunately, I was only 10 km away!) and on the above picture you can see my car parked at Carjoy's premises, it's the rightmost of the three red Murenas.

Murena V6

As I was carrying my recently bought digital camera (obviously, I had too much money on the bank when the Murena broke down, NOT! Oh well, c'est la vie...) I took the liberty of making a photo session of the V6 engine conversion.

The Murena Perestroika, a special conversion with the engine replaced with the 3 litre V6 from the Alfa Romeo 164 and a modified body, can be seen here and here at Carjoy's workshop.
The V6 engine can also be fitted in a less attracting way, as to say, a wolf in sheep's clothing. If you consider a Murena sheep, that is... The Murena shown on this picture looks like an ordinary Murena, but has a very powerful V6 engine modification. I have also taken pictures from the left and right side.
Exact specs I do not know, but I estimate (from Alfa 164 figures) 186 bhp and 255 Nm torque, giving the Murena the power and speed it deserves. The Alfa 164 had a top speed of 230 km/h, so who knows what the much more streamlined Murena will do with that amount of power.
